About

Yash Agarwal

Backend & Distributed Systems Engineer, based in Punjab, India. Open to SWE roles and internships · 2027 graduate.

I build backend and distributed systems, and I like the layer underneath them: the network, the wire format, the part that has to be right before anything above it can be fast.

In 2026 I was a Google Summer of Code contributor at the Apache Software Foundation, where two of my pull requests brought gRPC code generation for Dart and Swift into Apache Fory. I spent the summer as a software engineering intern at Salesforce, building observability for a production service ahead of its GA. Before that my team won Smart India Hackathon 2025 at the national level with Vajra, a DPDK-accelerated firewall, and I built and still run Salongraphy, a hiring marketplace live on Google Play.

I study Computer Science at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, graduating in 2027, and lead the technical team at the campus Google Developer Group.
